The Director's Scholarship
Each year The Abelian Group asks counselors at local public schools and youth groups to identify beginning sixth graders who would make good use of additional instruction in mathematics, and to encourage these students to apply for our Director’s Scholarship.
This scholarship provides funding for twelve weeks of private lessons, two lessons each week, and is renewable indefinitely.
Criteria for renewal are willingness to work hard, as demonstrated by on time completion of assigned work, and regular, punctual attendance.
Applications are due by November 15. The scholarship is awarded on December 15. Work begins in January when school resumes after the winter break.
