Study Options
We offer, in a one-on-one setting, complete courses from pre-algebra through AP Calculus, and everything in between.
Private Study:Studying math with one's own private teacher is the ultimate way to do it. The student can proceed at exactly the right pace, which is significantly faster than in a traditional academic setting. Two hourly meetings per week are initially required to achieve the desired continuity. Most schools have a process for granting credit for courses taken with us.
Tutoring:
Students enrolled in a math class elsewhere sometimes seek additional help with us. In a classroom environment the pace of the work is foreordained. Our objective as the tutor, then, is two-fold: to help the student feel comfortable in that class as quickly as possible, while simultaneously filling in the gaps in understanding that created the difficulty in the first place.
Distance Learning:
The internet now affords a vehicle for studying privately from one’s own home. The student and teacher are able to interact in real time--they can see each other, hear each other, and write on the same virtual black-board (except now it's called a white-board). It’s not as good as “being there”, but it is the next best thing. Ask the Director for details.
