TESTIMONIALS
In an email from the mom:
"We
just got her 8th grade standardized scores in math. Last time her
score was 7th percentile. Her May score was 77th percentile. That is not a
typo! "
Berkeley
In a phone message from the mom:
"You have done a tremendous job with him and I can't thank you enough or recommend you highly enough. We were working side by side the other day while he was doing his math and he said "Math is so cool and fun when you get the right answer." I have NEVER heard him say anything close to that kind of sentiment since about 6th grade. "

In a note from the adult student:
"For the first time in my life I am actually learning, and ENJOYING math!!
My self-confidence has soared through the roof...Taking classes with you was one of the best choices I ever made."
Oakland
In a note from the adult student:
"...
Even though you know it well, you still have a "beginner's mind" and
imparted all the wonder of it to me with wit and
enthusiasm..."
Berkeley
In a phone message from the mom:
“This has really turned her from basically an F math student to an A math student. She is so much more confident about her
math and her capabilities that I really just can't thank you enough for
this....”
Lafayette
In a note from the mom:
"I wanted you to know that I heard from my son today and he's been transferred to the Honors section in Physics. The reason he's been transferred to the Honors section in Physics is because he's doing so well in the Honors section of Geometry. He's doing so well in the Honors section of Geometry because he did so well in his summer algebra class at Choate, where, after the first week the head-master moved him past the Math 100 section for incoming 9th graders, past the Math 200 section for the more advanced 9th graders, and into Algebra Honors section. The reason he did so well in the Algebra Honors section is because he took your math class for a year. You are the goods, Leslie. All his success is really due to you. I just wanted you to know. You were worth every penny and more."

And my personal favorite, volunteered to me during his lesson:
"I like math better and better as I get more advanced because it becomes a better and better flirting device." I had to ask what he meant. He said: "Smart women like smart men, and because the math system is so poor, smart women are bad at math, so I look really intelligent to them."
