Here is a smattering of the many gratifying trubutes we've received over the years.
Left on my answering machine:
"Hello, Leslie, this is Jan. I just wanted to thank you so much for all that you've done for my daughter. This has really turned her around from basically an F math student to almost an A math student. She is so much more confident about her math and her capabilities that I really just can't thank you enough for this . . ."
Jan Gorman,
Lafayette
A thank-you note from an adult student:
". . . For the first time in my life I am actually learning, and ENJOYING math!! My self-confidence has soared through the roof . . . Taking classes with you was one of the best choices I ever made."
Francesca Kuglen,
Oakland
A note from the mom of three of our students:
" . . . I asked my boys what made you so good. My eldest son said 'She never allowed me to use a formula I didn't derive myself.' He truly understands mathematics now. I wish all children had a chance to study with you."
Linda Brown,
Fremont
Left on my answering machine:
"I wanted you to know that I heard from my son today and he's been transferred to the Honors section in Physics. The reason he's been transferred to the Honors section in Physics is because he's doing so well in the Honors section of Geometry. He's doing so well in the Honors section of Geometry because he did so well in his summer algebra class at Chaote, where, after the first week the head-master moved him past the Math 100 section for incoming 9th graders, past the Math 200 section for the more advanced 9th graders, and into the Algebra Honors section. The reason he did so well in the Algebra Honors section is because he took your math class for a year. You are the goods, Leslie. All his success is really due to you. I just wanted you to know. You were worth every penny and more."
Susie Cvitkovitch,
Burlingame
From the dad of a student:
". . . the net effect has been restored confidence, greater facility, and greater enjoyment in the pursuit of mathematics. We have recommended you to several other parents . . ."
