Abelian Certificates & Course Credit Abelian Certificates & the Gold Seal
Abelian
certificates are given at the end of a course of study to those whose
work was satisfactory. This certificate is the Abelian Group’s
endorsement that the student has sufficiently mastered the material to
proceed with confidence to the next level of study. For outstanding
performance, a gold seal is awarded. It indicates that the student’s
level of mastery is essentially complete.
Course Credit: There are two avenues for getting transcript credit for work done with us:
1. Through your school: Upon request from the parents, schools are
usually willing to work with us to assure that the student
satisfactorily completes the coursework, and will then assign credit
for the couse.
2. By “CLEPing out”: In addition to the AP Tests and The College Boards, ETS runs a program called the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).
Most colleges (and many high schools) grant credit based on passing
these tests. Because Abelian courses are rigorous and complete,
students who have successfully completed a course with us have no
trouble passing the CLEP tests. (But please be advised that at this
time there is no CLEP for Geometry. )
