Location of lessons:
The student comes to our office in Berkeley:  Either 474 Michigan Ave., or 2931 Shattuck Ave, Suite 102

Standards:
The content of our courses exceeds state standards in every case. 

Textbooks: 
We try to use older editions of wonderful books.  These are available on the internet at very reduced prices.  If we get the book for you we relay it at our cost.

Homework:  
Homework is generally assigned at the end of every lesson.  The typical assignment takes from ten to thirty minutes to complete.

Extra help:
All students have telephone access to their teacher and may phone for help, at no charge, on material that has already been taught. Students are strongly encouraged to make use of this resource.  Sometimes just a word or two can save the student a lot of time.

Make-up lessons:
Lessons cancelled with 24 hours notice are made up if a mutually acceptable time can be found within two weeks of the missed lesson.  Otherwise tuition is forfeited.

Re-scheduling a lesson:
Up to three lessons per academic year are rescheduled at no charge.  Beyond that there is a surcharge of $25 for each lesson that is rescheduled.

Tests
In the private setting, regular formal testing is generally not needed for evaluation purposes, however tests are often given to document progress and to help acquire test-taking skills.

Behavior: 
Because our office is now located in a residential neighborhood, it is important that quiet be observed as the student comes and goes.  (No loud talking, no loud music please.)
